Screens are the fundamental tool of the screen printing trade. That’s why it’s normal for screen printers to think that they should start building their own screens. It’s true that stretching your own screens can drive down costs and give you the ability to be flexible with customers—and if anything goes wrong, you can stretch a new screen and not have to wait for your distributor.  But stretching your own screens is not a easy process, and there are many difficulties that come along with it.
