A Marketing Plan That Doesn’t Market

Posted by on April 25, 2012 under Sales & Marketing

Your favorite teacher in high school wasn’t the one who shouted at you for not listening or readily instituted that extreme attendance policy. Nor were they the ones who stuck to the same old textbook lesson plan. Nope. They were the ones who sang and danced on the desk to explain their syllabus, or found a way to relate Shakespeare to The Simpsons. They made their possibly boring, required class into something magical.

Your marketing plan should do the same. Let’s face it, printing products aren’t the most glamorous, or the most exciting—but neither was biology. If a high school teacher can make the inner workings of a frog’s intestinal system interesting to a 17-year-old, you can position and sell your printing products honestly and effectively. First lesson? Stop selling, start teaching.
